"WHEELS" Trucker / Farmer song...please review and critique!
This was pretty much my first X1 project, a country singer who wants to produce a 3 song CD to sell at truckstops. This song "WHEELS" was our first track made for the CD. It may not appeal to country haters but who can forget "CONVOY!" Please let me know what you think...I did the drums with session drummer 3 "Train Beat" link to song: http://www.trustmedia.tv/wheels/WHEELS.mp3 (It may take a few seconds to buffer the song to play, hang in there!) It's a flash projector playing the song, it's 160kbps mp3 so it may take a little while to buffer, give it a wait!

great job! it reminds me to Johnny Cash sound in his last albums. and I'm a huge fan of this souns. Is it you singing? if it is, you have a great voice, full of emotion and power at the same time. Superb!

WOW I can't wait to tell Ramblin' Rod Hayek about you saying Johny Cash, the second song called "Country Music" coming soon Rod mentions hitchicking a song from Minnesota to Nashville and arriving at Johny Cashes House only to find that he wasn't home...true story.

New mix...added bass line by passing a cloned guitar track through Guitar Rig 4 Pro Scoop Bass filter minus Sonitus Stereo Delay...new "human" quantized Battery 3 Tight Kit high hats...added Cakewalk Para-EQ to original & cloned guitar tracks to split the tracks at about 1300hz...Rod really liked it...I am pleased.

Thanks Robby, that's the feel we want for the song, I cancelled the last few changes and reverted back to the original mix, we can't beat that. I've uploaded a high quality 320kbs mp3 of the mix, give it a listen...may take awhile to load though...

I reckon you're gonna need to put some kind of streaming app up this ain't working for me neither.
I even tried downloading it, it says 4.6mb which seems about right, but then the resultant mp3 gives me about 5 secs of engine noise and a bass coming in and that's it.
The country music one works OK, and the picture of Burt Reynolds there aptly conveys my feelings about that one but 'Wheels' ain't happening.

All I hear is a buildup (2-3) seconds, then the players quits. Firefox is saying the file is 4.6 meg. But only hearing about 2 seconds.... I'll try it with Microsoft explorer... edit - same thing bro.

But the song was a bit fatiguing for me to listen to. I've heard that can be from a bit too much limiting? Also maybe because it didn't seem like there were a lot of dynamic change ups.
Aside from that I thought it was mixed very nice.

It is a problem with this song, your exactly right It's very compressed but when I try to change it it comes across as less "exciting" I guess is the word...

I've had some luck with reducing the limiting, but putting in a bit more from the audio exciters in Ozone. Also, the Nomad Magnetic has some nice tricks up it's sleeve.
