I had set Windows to give priority to background services and while Sonar was playing switching between mono and stereo, it was all possible timing errors. I had to stop and start playback in order to recover timing.

When I later got me to switch windows to give priority to programs then everything worked as it should.

Perhaps part of the reported sonar bugs are Windows-related?

That's interesting, K.  I thought Noel Borthwick told us a few years ago specifically NOT to make that common tweak for SONAR.  It would be useful to have Cakewalk tell us if that advice is still current for X1.

Software: Cakewalk by Bandlab; Adobe Audition; Band-in-A-Box audiophile; Izotope Ozone; Encore; Melodyne; Win 10 Pro, 64-bit.

Hardware: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 2nd; Roland Integra-7; TCE Finalizer; Presonus Central Station, Behringer X-Touch.  Home built i7 with 16 GB RAM, SSDs.
