US-2400 and FW-1804 problem with sonar x1

I have  problems in sonar x1 with two tascam devices.
1. US-2400 surface control, sonar see only 8 of the 24 channels, while normally follow the instructions. (I have windows 7 64bit)
there is a way to operate normally this device with the sonar? if not done with mackie control surface, it is possible to native mode?
2.The sound card FW-1804 with latest drivers,  must open and close many times until  see it normally sonar x1.
 there is a solution ?
thank you

I have the exact same issue...only the first bank of 8 channels works with X1.  Would love to know if there's a fix.

Regarding the FW-1804 it could be a Win 7 FW issue.  Do you have your FW card in Legacy mode?  Seems Win7 FW support is non-existent going forward and this is needed in order to work.  I have a FW-1082 and it is detected intially upon Windows boot up and then stops communicating.

I had these problems as well with the FW-1082. Tascam did us no favors when Win 7 came out. Even though they eventually released firmware for Win 7 it was buggy and never REALLY worked. As you guys said, it works for a while then stops. Might want to check on you firewire card as well as the version of firewire drivers you are running. I cannot remember exactly anymore, but there is a model of firewire card that is not as functional. A google search on that should give you the card model. Ultimately I had to stop using the 1082 as my input device. Once I did that, and only use it as a control surface, I have had no problems. Not sure if any of this is useful, but at least you know your not alone in the pain Tascam caused us. Good luck!

The FW-1884 drivers are solid in Win 7 x32 & x64, IF you have a TI chipset Firewire interface and use the "Legacy" drivers. My guess is that the 1804 drivers are similar.
See the tutorial below for setting up the Win 7 "Legacy" firewire driver.

As to the US-2400, Tascam claims the issues are Microsoft's problem.
Typical Tascam support, or lack of support. I get the impression that it does not work in Win 7, only supported in XP.
    Can't help you there.

Using the US2400 here with no issues.  However, the Tascam is very quirky, especially when you add or remove a USB device prior to opening Cakewalk.

I have had serveral instances where the unit has done excatly as you have described going back as far back as Sonar 6.  Try the following, I'm at work so I appologize if I get file names wrong:

Copy the AUD.ini and tesq(??).ini files to another folder for safe keeping (especially if you use friendly names.)
Go to the control surface menu and delete the Tascam completely from this control surface setup page
delete the aud.ini file (I'm at work and can't remember the exact location of these files)
    delete the tesq.ini file
    close Sonar
    disconnect power from the Tascam
    reboot your machine
    reapply power to your Tascam
open Sonar (I believe you will be prompted to do an Audio scan of your system.  This is normal)
go to the Control Surface menu and set up the Tascam again
you may have to do the 3-finger salute (shift-function-select)  something like that

Hopefully this will fix things up.
