HELP with WIN 7 and compatible sound cards

Hello,
 
I bought a Delta 1010LT and cannot fix the latency issues.  M-Audio has created drivers for WIN7, and even ProTools7, the disc that came with the soundcard, will not work with WIN7.
 
Can anyone tell me what works for them, or what I might have overlooked?  I'm ready to send the Delta back and buy a new soundcard but all I found on the microsoft website for compatiility is creative soundcards without MIDI input.
 
Any help would be appreciated.  Here's my gear:
 
Sonar 5 (Studio Edition)
HP P6000 Series
4GB DDR3
Intel GMA X4500
 
Yamaha P80

    i had the same problem as you..i went through returning two before i found one that was compatible..m-audio isnt doing it for me with windows 7 right now..they just dont seem ready for the change..heres one that you will not have any problems with...the focusrite saffire 6 usb..just install the drivers that come with the disc and your good to go..dont get the mackie blackjack for windows 7..wont work..the presonus audiobox will work...but dont get it..its volume controls on the front panel have little effect on volume and it will clip in sonar..it works in other apps that let you control the input level throught the daw...sonar doesnt..you need to control the input volume on your unterface

    Just to let you know I am using m-audio's audiophile 2496 with window 7 64 bit, i5 CPU. I am also using ua25ex with the same desktop. Both interface worked very well. However they can only record 2 tracks of audio.

    You could check out RME Audio.
    I've had my RME HDSP9652 for quite some time now and RME are kings when it comes to updating drivers for their cards.
    They have very stable drivers and, in my opinion, the sound quality of their gear is outstanding as well.

    +1 for the Focusrite saffire 6 USB, I have posted elsewhere, unboxed and recording in 10 minutes, maybe less! Like already mentioned, no problems with drivers in Win. 7x64 Home Premium, came with software-I believe Novation Bass Station, lots of samples and loops, FX Mastering Suite, and oh yeah...Ableton. I know very little,so if I can get it going, anyone can!
