Movie song

OK, posting the song yesterday turned out to be so much fun that I decided to post another today. It's VERY different but I dabble in many different genres.

Yeah, it was originally some more shine and brightness to the whole track to begin with. But the director of the movie needed it to be a little "duller" for its use and considerate as she is, she asked if I could do it to the track instead of having her audio engineer "fix" with lowpass filters etc. So I dulled it a little which alowed me to still have some of the higher frequencies flowing freely while the track didn't really interfere with what was going on in the foreground, and to my ears it turned out quite good on its own. I did have it played at a club once too, this very mix, by a DJ friend and eventhough nothing revolutionary changed on the dancefloor, at least the people there didn't leave or stop dancing

He he, it was for a laid back dance floor. In the movie it was used in a lounge club setting with two guys talking over it. I sent over a banging trance tune as well but this fitted what she wanted;) My DJ buddy was playing a chill out/lounge set at a chill out/lounge night at a chill out/lounge club so it was ok there But wouldn't play it in your regular dance club, I agree with you there.

Actually, it cuts a bit abruptly both on the way in and out, and yes it was done on purpose. Actually, being a lazy ass, I never actually did anything with it. The director would only use some part in the middle so whatever stretched outside the potential 3,12 minutes she'd use I never bothered making right. And if a DJ want to play it he/she will probably mix it in after the start and out before the end. Besides that I never thought that people would listen to it so I've just done some poor work to that and should probably fix it. But I can't be bothered

Good movie track. Hard to say if it works without the dialog (could be too boomy).

Nice theme considering that it was not planned as a song (or was it?).

he he, I think they EQ'd a little to fit with the rest. I was worried it would be too boomy too but never heard anything about it.

The track started out with me playing a little with an Electric Piano patch in Kontakt. I've never seen the point of an electric piano and never knew how to use the sounds it makes. But this time it worked. The rest evolved from there. And yes, it was actually intended as a song that could freely be placed with the picture

BTW, the synth sound that comes in with the trumpets in the middle part is made with the Zebra synth, the Computer Music edition. Man what a great synth that is! It's "organic" nature fitted nicely with the sampled stuff IMO

you're right about that ending and all that. However, I already knew what the director would use so that's why I didn't care about it. However, I usually do.

I'll probably sound like I'm bragging now. but this is only my first song in a movie. I've had songs in quite a few movies and I've also made a few scores to shorts and info movies. One of my bands will have four songs placed in a computer game coming out soon (details still a little secret but it will be huge!). But this was my first, and it's very precious to me he he.

But thanks and I'm glad you can dance to it. I can too. But no one should watch it. It can't be un-seen afterwards...

My dancing is serious mind-rape. No one should ever have to witness it...

Philz - Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I've been lucky to make a buck or two of this. I wouldn't credit it to the winters tho, I HATE THE NORWEGIAN WINTERS!!! I tend to be more inspired during the spring, summer and early autumn. That's when I pen down my ideas which I use during the winter. Give me nice weather and I can be very productive all the time
