CRASH

Not sure if this has been included in the upcoming update or not.

Walk away from my rig for an hour or so and X1 CRASHES.  Just X1 and not windows.  "Not Responding" message.  Happens almost everytime.

Anyone else experience this?

Sincerely,
Litewave

I have had similar type errors in the recent past with X1 crashing, not opening, not responding. With my system I found that almost every instance was a setting. Recently updated BIOS and all drivers, disabled LAN and other unnecessary items, and a mess of other things.Updates performed changed settings back in X1 on me causing the problems to come back on me again unexpectadly. Im not an IT type but Id make sure ya try/recheck all the things in BIOS, reg files, settings in X1, etc... do a good clean cold boot each time then recheck. Disable all AutoUpdating and Antivirus when running X1. I am finally to the point of actually being able to work on a huge file (currently 102 tracks/8busses) with very little trouble but am patiently waiting for X1b to do a clean install/adjust and get back with it. My system load is only running .46 on the meter with 2.16 memory committed.  I DO leave my system up and running almost all the time and dont even close it out once I pass out for the night now. Everything stays as if Im working.

    Could be power-management related...

FWIW, I can leave X1 open with project loaded (for hours) without a problem.
Due to my schedule, this is how I usually work on projects.

I used to have the same problem all the time with virtually every prior Sonar version.  X1 is the only one where this doesn't happen to me.  Now I'm thinking that Jim is right - maybe something in the operating system that X1 is sensitive to.  I'm just glad this is not happening any more.

    Another AMD processor crashing.

Did you look in the Windows Event Log to see if an error message was logged?

Also, you have a lot of equipment (memory and disks) running off that 600W power supply.

If I walk away from a project for 30 minutes or more, there is a slight delay of a few seconds when I hit play, but otherwise no problem.  It was that way in 8.5.

    All the best,

I can consistantly duplucate this (NOT RESPONDING) when working with Audio Snap and transients from Track View. I just learned what I dont need to do with my system until X1b hopefully.
