Burning CD with X1 - is that broken too?

I have Nero on my 32bit machine.
I've not installed it on my x64 machine as I am trying to keep that as clean as I can.
For the first time ever I tried burning some mixes to CD using the CD burner in X1 - I thought it would be easier than moving the files so that my xp32 machine could see them and then booting that up to burn like I have always done.
The software allowed me to add my wav files to the list but when I pressed the Burn button - nothing happened.
Nothing at all.
I waited to see if anything was going to happen, and nothing did.
I ended up booting up my xp32 machine and burning the mixes with Nero....

Is the CD burning bit of X1 broken?
If not then why won't it work for me?

The CD burner in X1 is the only place I've experienced issues. I was able to burn songs to disk but there were scattered fragments of audio in between each song. Tried it a few times and no luck. Not sure what the problem is there but when I use Windows Media Player to burn those same songs all is fine. I didn't have this problem using the burner in 8.5.3.

Didn't realise I could use WMP to burn a CD.
    I'll try that instead.

It's just another thing X1 can't do that it claims to be able to do.

Misrepresentation of a product like this is criminal.

How does the software industry get away with it?

So does anyone know if any of the updates have fixed CD burning from within X1 on x64?

Not tried recently and not at my DAW right now.

No idea, but if it still does not work on X1C please report to Cakewalk support.

The X1 CD burner is a pretty average implementation at the end of the day. I've experienced similar drama with it also and no longer use it as the results are unreliable or it stalls as mentioned. Needs a revisit for sure. Cheers.

I've always used wmp to burn CD's. Don't need the drama.

.... which we can all easily work around. If you want good mastering software then go get it - some of it is free.
However I would definately like to see Pyro bundled into X2 next time around.

CD burner works fine for me. But I also don't have all kinds of internet-media-player-nero-garbage on my DAW.

I own numerous versions of SONAR. IMHO it's great that it's a separate download/purchase. Otherwise I would have paid for the Mp3 Encoder 5+ times over.

I've used Sonar to burn CDs, and it's worked
well. I have Pyro, and only Cake items on my PC.
It goes withoout saying I have WMP, and I've used it too.

Unrelated, and I know it's been beaten to death in previous threads.......but I still can't post to forum or reply, from my Motorola Atrix smart phone.
I can post urls / attachments and I could reply in all attachments as a work-around!

    It does NOTHING:
    I have SONAR X1 installed on 3 computer (x64 and x32).
Utilities -> Burning Audio CD: does nothing. No Dialog, ... nothing ...!!
    Therefor I burn with Nero.

THambrecht - why don't you contact tech support?
If there's a bug here maybe you will contribute in getting it fixed for other users as well as yourself.

Works for me (X1C,Win 7,64 bit).
