Sonar X1 MP3 Sloooooow - please help

I am sure that I am doing something wrong, just need some help to figure it out.

I have a 64bit Quad AMD based system 8 gig of Memory, good graphics speed, an SSD, etc

I a currently doing my first MP3 encoding within Sonar X1 and it is taking soooo long.  An hour into this and I am 40 Percent done.

Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance, Steve

Never heard of that before. I've done some using Lame on my i7 and it whizzes through them. How many tracks/effects/busses does your project have? Are you running any other software at the same time?

    Check the value of BounceBufSizeMsec
It should be 0 by default. If not change it to 0 to default to the playback buffer size. If set low it will make bounces run slower.

This was documented in the X1A readme if I remember right.

Thanks to Twigman and all of the others who lent a hand.  This issue was solved by the solution below.  I tried to run X1 before updating to the X1a version.  This left a setting of 30 for the buffer size.  Moving this to zero improved MP3 compile from hours to 5-7 minutes on 16 tracks of audio with some prochannel effects.  The article was based on Wave, now we also know it applies to MP3s.

Great job to those who offered their help.

I report that I changed the value per below and it worked, but when I mixed it into a MP3 a second time we are back at hours, not the 5-7 stated below.

Did I do something wrong, I checked the buffer and it is still set at zero?

Additional note: the file size for the one that took 5-7 minutes was 44.4. meg; the one that takes hours 870meg. It worked one time, I have tried to remix the MP3 with no success.
