I went to your website to check out some of your other works and had to laugh....cause we both used the same Za3ta patch to work a tune around.....only I called mine Club mix and of course have a different treatment of it..... this is the second time I've stumbled on some one else using the very same patch....I think that the other one was done it Prime loops if I remember right???? I think.... but this took me by surprise cause I did not think anyone else has used it before.....so it can't be too bad of a patch if three of us have used it.... Clifford

Shawn, listening just now to the current version. It seems to be straying toward a more "produced" dance track. The Djembe added a mystical quality, which seems to be very much reduced now. I hate to say it, but this versions seems more mundane. Compare it to the 3/1 version. There was an edge there, and it had more tension. It's funny how just a few notes can completely change the mood of a piece. It's entirely up to you, of course, but I liked the darker, more forboding vibe of that version.

My ears are actually hurting I've been working on a few intense audio projects alot lately and I play those cans REALLY LOUD. y method is to listen to stuff over and over again and I was forming the thought you had when you posted it, thank you so much for your great input!!

Clifford You being a Trucker and all, I was hoping you would listen to this song I produced and let me know what you think.. Play the song "WHEELS" Sorry about that........I got side tracked last night with some one else's foolishness.....and narrow view point..... anyway I gave it a listen.......now please keep in mind that this critique is based on listening thru cheap PC Speakers.......(but the same one's I listened to Inspire on so it is interesting to listen to the translation and differences in production between works) Now from where I am listening the guitar needs to be tuned.....the higher up the fingerboard you play the more it is obvious... (that is with anyone...not just you in this situation) the vox is too over processed so it is hard to understand what you are saying...It sounds like you have a lot of chorus and verb on it ...I would back it off some...... from what little I could understand I think you may have some mis nomer's in there that should be fixed if you are trying to stay realistic....however if not then it is your virtual world and anything is good..... For me this song is ok....it would not make my rotational listening list...It sounds too much in the style of Johnny Cash who is ok but not some one I want to listen to on a regular basis...... that Truck horn sounds thin on my PC speakers which for me when I hear a horn......I WANT to hear HORN!!!!!! maybe put some sub in it.....make it thunder!!!!! HOWEVER your inspire tune I heard last night would make it into my top 10 of current listening material......I would love to know more about how you wrote and produced it.....I really like that .... Just my silly little thoughts. Clifford

OK, new thoughts. This may sound crazy, but check it out. I think the dance thump has a place, but letting the more exotic percussion carry the piece adds to the mystery of it. I like the backbeat as it builds at :40, but cap it at :44. Don't let it get dominant. I think it can be more powerful if it stays suggestive, if that makes sense. maybe even pull the percussion forward at this point. It's a delicate balance, but there is a lot of intensity here, and if you play it right, you can have the audience on the edge of their seats. With the right video, this could be a killer combo. I like the synths, and I think they fit well.

Essential Studio Equipment!! Shawn, I hope my last post didn't come across a too much of a directive. Read it as enthusiasm for the piece. I really like the vibe you have going, and it has sparked some ideas.

I'm back to the point of thinking thid may be done, you know it's hard to pull the trigger and say that sometimes but I'm really trying to finish Volume II of my muisic library so I have to make stuff rather quickly and I've spent alot of time on this one and it was worth it so far. Thanks!

Shawn, I've been following this thread and finally got a chance to listen. This is some cool stuff you've put together here, and I liked it very much. The only quibble I had, and I want to be clear that this may be a matter of personal taste, was that your lead melody instrument seemed to have a long decay and sustain, and I was wondering what it would sound like with a shorter tailed instrument like a clav, EP or maybe a shorter tailed synth. Just a thought on a tune i really liked.

Just "right Click" and "Save Target As" on the .mp3 and go to town on the song, could you then ftp me the .wave guitar tracks? It's 120 beats per minute. I've done this remotely with Danny Danzi before and it was a blast!
