Is anyone else having this Patch Browser issue?

When I insert a new soft synth (e.g.  Dim Pro, Rapture, Sound Center and most, but not all, synths bundled with X1),  the patches don't show up in the Patch Browser or the Bank/Patch Change Dialogue box.  Is anyone else having this issue?   I use Bank/Patch Change a fair amount, and not being able to use it on some of the synths is eFFing with my chi!

I would have answered you earlier but I thought someone more knowledgeable may step in. The answer is 'yes'. In my case, I get nothing in the Patch Browser until I've selected the soft synth as the midi channel (I would have assumed that opening the synth as an instrument track would do that automatically). Then it depends on the synth: e.g. with the Cakewalk TTS, all the patches show up in the Patch Browser; with Rapture and Dim Pro I get none; with z3ta+ the patches are there but there are some double entries which don't correspond to the patches displayed in the z3ta+ window.

I believe someone explained this once - and the parallel problem of the Presets box not working for some VST instruments - but I'd be happy to read the explanation again. I think it predates X1.

    Thanks Twevva.
If you have a minute and can find that explanation for me I certainly would like to give it a glance.  So I guess what it boils down to is - I can't use the patch/bank change functionality on some of the more advanced soft synths.

Thanks for your input chuckebaby, but I think we may be talking about two different things.
