Is this a known issue?
I know there have been complaints about notes not exactly lining up in PRV but when I copy/paste one measure it gets further and further away (later) from beat one. Is this a known issue and if so is there a workaround (other than playing it all the way through)? Thanks, Randy

Is the part you are copying actually snapped to a "beat one" to begin with?

agreed... I don't have X1 running yet, but make sure you at least quantize the first beat or shift the whole clip to make the first beat line up

I tried to delete this but you're too fast Mike....Yes it was but apparently I had erroneously selected an extra 1/16 on the end which pushed everything down. Sorry for the trouble and thanks very much Mike!

Greetings; For the benefit of anyone else dealing with a similar problem, i ran into a similar issue before i discovered the difference between 'snap by' and 'snap to.' Using 'snap to' and a large grid setting (i.e. 1/2 note or whole note) results in reliable alignment when copying bars across a track. Regards Glenn

I think there is something wrong with the way clips line up. I don't think it's anything you guys did wrong. I can take a groove clip that is exactly 4 measures long down to the sample, drag it for the length of the song, and the further down the timeline I go, the further off the groove clip drifts from the timeline. I also noticed you have to zoom in really close no matter what your snap settings are in order to get the beginning of a clip to line up exactly with the timeline.

Regards Glenn Thanks Glenn, it is set to snap to...in this case though it was user error (selection went 1/16 beat past measure) but it's cool now. So that I don't start a new thread though I have another question that someone can probably easily answer: I was trying to clean up some clutter in this project and deleted the instrument track on a couple of instruments and now don't get sound. The midi track is pointing to the synth in the synth rack and the controller is sending a signal to that track but there's no sound. I don't have to have an instrument track do I? Thanks again my friends, Randy

I also noticed you have to zoom in really close no matter what your snap settings are in order to get the beginning of a clip to line up exactly with the timeline. Are you sure you're not snapping to zero crossings? Even if you have your snap settings set to "measure", if the "zero crossings" are selected, then it will snap to the nearest crossing. You should disable that and then I'll bet you will cut at the exact point you wanted to...

Odd indeed... that's a tough one. I use Sonar7 at the moment so maybe there is something different in 8x
