V-Vocal mapping

Alright guys, forum newbie, so sorry if this is an age old problem that's been addressed.

I have Sonar Pro5 and Pro7 editions, and both of them are having problems with mapping the waveforms in v-vocal.
I mainly use Pro5 (preference) and have tried all sorts of audio and all sorts of volumes and it always turns out the same.
I've selected the track, and got the editor window up, but half the waveform is missing like it's just dropped out.



There's a screenshot of it, and you can see the gaps in the pitch line (and the waveform at the bottom) where it just cuts bits out, affecting the original audio track as well, it just clips to silence at random points in the track. It's destructively edited as well, because the undo feature just removes the v-vocal track, but leaves the gaps in the audio.
Is this common, or am I just doing something really obviously wrong?  

Hmmm, like Dave, I've never seen that in a V-vocal clip.

- Are you trying to process stereo tracks?  You should use mono tracks with a monophonic sound source i.e. a vocal. 

-And the signal needs to be nice and loud.  Maybe your original track is too low in volume. 

-One other tip - that's too large of a clip to work with at once.  Surely the whole track doesn't need correcting?-- Choose the notes/words which are offending your ears, and do just those small clips, one at a time, leaving the rest of the track un-shifted.
