First time posting a song

This is my first time posting a song, mainly because you guys are way ahead of me in mixing and mastering.

But, From the forum, and other resources, thought I would post this one to get feed back, on the mix, and the mastering.

All honest feedback is greatly appreciated. I did forget to fade out the song on this file, so that is something I still have to do.

This is an older song of mine, that I remixed from info gained here, and elsewhere.

                 Jamstix 3 for drums (using drumagog on kick and snare)

It is a Robin Trowerish type of song.

Red Sky In The Morning

Nice playing and tones.  Agree with the wookster about being too wide.  I'd prefer the lead dead center.

This can be a cool tune when you get it under control a bit better.

Reverb is easy to abuse.

Heavy reverb on a guitar is kind of OK at times, but almost never on the whole mix.

The drums and bass should be pretty dry with very little reverb on them at all and should be much closer to center on the mix.

For a first post, this is not bad. Now you got a few ears on it and the consensus is similar, so there you have it..... now, have a go at fixing it and repost.

So far everyone has summed it up pretty well so I will not go any farther.....

this can work out to be a very enjoyable trip.......and I have to agree to me is sounds more Floydish....

Pink Floydish..but I like it, Just not so heavy on the channel tools brother

Another one for the too wide camp I'm afraid. Lacks a little focus the way it is, but should be easy enough to fix. Good otherwise though - certainly nothing to be shy about here.

Ya, for me there's a general rule about keeping bass kick snare centered. I don't mind all the delay, I think it's appropriate for the guitar but maybe pulled back a bit on the organ. Nice levels. I might try a slightly cleaner tone on the guitar and less "fuzz" This tune is right up my alley, good job.

Just a thought. Are you widening the entire mix or just individual tracks? Widening an entire mix can cause a loss in definition especially in kick/bass relationship. Try widening individual tracks such as keys and guits rather than the master buss. Again, just a thought

As stated above, bring everything back to center and start from there, track by track.

Please stick with this though, as it was really sweet and i enjoyed it a lot.

Made me feel very lazy after hearing it mind.

I would say more Floyd than Trower.  Drums seemed a little "too far back or not present".  They could be enhanced a bunch to make this song go up another level.  I like it and feel "comfortable " listening to it.  You know, a realy heavy drummer could make this smoke.  What you have works "with a little work" but a HOT drummer could put it over the edge.  IMHO, of course.
