Playing a midi file using session drummer

I am just learning about midi in sonar.. I cannot get the midi file to play anything but a piano sound.. I converted an audio kick drum track to a midi track through audio snap. That worked great. I also loaded a session drummer 3 kit to the project. That worked great as well. However. When I play back the midi kick drum track all I get is a piano note in rhythem with the drum track?  What am I missing?  I followed the cakewalk vidio on the web site but I still cannot get any sound from session drummer on the midi kick track. It did say that I need to route the midi track to a drum bus, But I don't have the option showed on the video.. Ican get session drummer to play on it's own, but the midi kick track I converted will not trigger session drummer...Can anyone help??!!   Thanks!!!

midi tracks have inputs and outputs that need to be configured. check that the clip(file) is in a track outputted to your session drummer.

your probably patched to a synth and not sd3,the vids are real cool and you obviously are on the right track watching them..sometimes it helps to minimze the video and go step by step with seth..i did this 3 times before i got the hang of it..and still now once in a while ill make a mistake..hang in dude..you also might want to try the browser and drag and drop patterns..then click on the sytnh option in the browser and listen to -sd3..good luck, any more questions please ask

Thanks for asking about this, the same thing happened to me... I just haven't gotten around to figuring it out. I was playing around with te step sequencer and SD and was getting a piano too...

I'll have to come back tomorrow and try again. Good luck to you! The devil is in the details (as they say).
