X1-have new midi interface, possible to change multiple CWP midi track outputs at once?

Yikes! Had to buy new midi interface.... (so long trusty old parellel port Micro Express, I hardly new ya...)
I am not looking forward to re-selecting/changing a "missing midi output" to a new newly named port for hundreds of project tracks! I know you can sort by track output, which is great, but I can't seem to change globally. And I could have sworn this was possible and I did this with earlier versions. Using X1 BTW..
I did trying making the alias match the earlier port name...no dice.
Tried renaming in the TTSQ ini as well...no joy.....would love to fool sonar into thinking the port name has not been changed..where to look?
Surely some of you have solved this mightly vexing problem.
Any tips would be much appreciated. 
I swear I will get some music done one of these months!

    Hold down the Ctrl key on your PC keyboard while you change the output on one MIDI track. That will change the output for all MIDI tracks in the project as long as no tracks are selected.

    Look up Quick Groups in the SONAR help.
