Select track without mouse ?

There may be an apparent way of doing this , but I can't seem to figure it out.  Is there a way to select a track from the keyboard without using the mouse ?  I can shift the focus to another track by using the up and down arrows, but I can't figure out how to actually select the track so that I can arm it for recording etc using Alt R.  The shortcuts help says that Shift S will select the current track, but that doesn't seem to work the way I would have thought.  Seems like the current track is the one selected, so why would you need to select it?  Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks
Ron

If you have a bcf2000 or a Mackie control surface the mackie control surface plugin has option where if you touch a fader associated with a track it selects that track. Now a bcf2000 does not have touch sensitive faders but all you have to do it wiggle the one you want a very small bit to select the track.

I don't think there is a keyboard shortcut.

Ah ha,  thanks guys.  Scott, that comma does the trick.  I still can't find any reference to that in any of the documentation, but it does work.  I guess that's why you write the books for Sonar and I don't.  Now, to push it a little further, can you bind this command to a midi key ?  Looking in the key bindings of X1, I see almost none of the default key commands that linked in that window.  And looking at the comma key, shows no corresponding command that I could change to a midi key or button.  Not a big deal, since I have a wireless computer keyboard, but would be nice to use my midi control surface instead.

Bitman,  thanks for the ideas about the bcf2000, but I dont have one.  I do have the bcr2000 that I used to use with AJ's software, but I can't get it to work with 64bit Sonar X1.  I suppose his software would have to be converted to 64 bit ?  And I still don't know if it would do what the bcf2000 does in regards to selecting the track.  I am going to try just setting it up as a generic control surface and see if that does the same thing.

What I'm trying to do here is to be able to set up a few softsynths and go to my midi keyboard and control surface and record different tracks without having to roll back over to the computer to get ready for the next track etc.

    Thanks

    Ron

Great tip Scott! Out of curiosity, is there a magical keyboard shortcut that moves the active WIA state? I though this might be it - but no joy. I use a VS-100 and use my keyboard to fly around tracks - I would love it if I could quickly enable the track with WIA so I could use the solo/mute/arm etc... from the VS.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!
