Dealing with both 32 bit and 64 bit Dimension Pro

After having problems with both versions of X1 installed on the same machine I removed them both and I'm trying again but I'm trying to be more deliberate and follow some of the advice I've read here about making both coexist.  I think the 64 bit version is looking good and I'm about to start on the 32 bit version (I need it for a few projects that use Rewire).

However I was thinking.  From what I read the 64 bit version will use 32 bit plugins but the 32 bit version cannot use the 64 bit versions.  So, it seems what's been suggested is that the 64 bit version scan both the 64 bit and the 32 bit VST directories but the 32 bit version scan only the 32 bit vst directories.

OK.  But what about those plugins, like Dimension Pro that come in both a 32 bit and 64 bit versions?  If I install them both won't the 64 bit X1 see 2 Dimension Pros (and 2 of every other plugin that comes in both flavors), because it scans the 32 bit dirs also?  Is that a problem?

Or should I only install the 32 bit Dimension Pro and use it in both 32 and 64 bit X1.  Seems a shame since a 64 bit DP is available.

OR should I go through the trouble of creating 2 32 bit vst dirs.  One for plugins that come only in a 32 bit version and one for plugins that also have a 64 bit version.  That way the 64 bit X1 can scan the 64 bit vst dir and the 32 bit dir that has plugins without a 64 bit version and the 32 bit version of X1 would scan both 32 bit directories.

Of course it's possible that I was wrong about the original advice.  Perhaps 64 bit X1 should scan only 64 bit plugins and 32 bit X1 should scan only 32 bit plugins.

How have others approached this?

64 bit X1 will not look in your 32 bit directory unless you specifically tell it to by pointing to it from the manage pluging utility.

Right, I specifically told it to based on some advice I got here.  Beatscape, for example comes in only a 32 bit version and I'd like it to be able to use it in the 64 bit X1.

Should I not for some reason?

In the plugin manager just disable the 32 bit version if you want. You can tell which is which by its properties.

No one who's using both versions of X1 wants to share their strategy?
