No Playback in X1a

Hi everyone,
I know this must be an easy fix but for the life of me I can't figure it out.
I just installed X1a and loaded up one of my tried and true projects. No playback.
Whether I hit the space bar or the play button, it just plays about 1/2 a second of my project then stops. This occurs for audio, samples, midi -- anything. I do not have it set to loop anything either.
Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks,

    Try calling up the audio preferences, don't change anything and just ok your way out.

    I used to get this in 8.3 and the above was the solution. Never had it in X1 or my brief time with 8.5 though.

    What is your system and what are your Playback and Record I/O Bit Depths, etc... set at ? Running ASIO, WDM?

    Make sure your tracks are assigned to busses if you use them, and everything is going to a master out.  X1 wanted new assignments for all of my old projects so far!

    hey!!!..has this been a bug???and how did you figure this out???..i made a post on it a wek or so ago.
    glad to see it wasnt just me  :)   i was going to say the same thing..good minds think alike..

    Sonar X1a Producer
    Digi 003 Rack
    Roland Fantom XR, 5080, XV=88
    Midisport 8X8
    Asio drivers
    Sample rate: 44100
    Audio driver bit depth: 24 (default; greyed out)
     
    I notice that when I press the Play button in the Transport bar, even though nothing plays or moves beyond a few miliseconds, it stays fixed on the Play button as though it is playing.

    Check Preferences/Audio/Sync and Caching. Under File System-the "Playback I/O & Record I/O Buffer Size"  . If its under 256 try bumping it up to 512 or 1024 and see if any changes. Mine has done the same thing and this is where I made changes that helped but I had a little longer play time in. The play icon would still grey as if it were a still playing, but actually dropped off. If it helps, then gradually back down to where it works for you. I still get it but every once in a great while.
