Sharing control surfaces between apps

Hi all

With a MOTU soundcard, (an 828mkII in my case), a little mixer app called CueMix FX is supplied which can be controlled by a Mackie control surface. The app has the ability to share the control surface with other programs so when its window loses focus, the control surfaces display is cleared and it becomes available for use again. Upon subsequently starting Sonar, the control surface becomes dominated by it all the while it is open, regardless of whether it has focus or not. I'm wondering if there is a way to enable it to share the control surface in a similar way to CueMix, so that I can have both programs running together and the control surface will automatically switch to whichever one has focus?

I don't think so. The CueMix is software that the developers made to do that. The Mackie Control does not have any software. It is controlled by the DAW developer that writes the dll to use the MC. It would be up to all DAW developers to make this possible. That is unlikely to happen.
