Issues Importing and Exporting Video

I'm using Sonar PE 8.3.1.372 on Windows Vista 64.  I've been getting into scoring film and recently landed a feature.  Thing is, I'm not alwasy able to import .mov files and I'm never able to export video in any of the 3 given file choices ("Windows Media Video," "Video for Windows" or "Quicktime").  I'm pretty sure it's a codec issue.  Does anyone know which ones I would need? I would tell you what I have currently installed, but I'm not sure how to find that out either.  Please excuse my technical ignorance.  I'm more musically inclined than I am PC oriented.  It's important that I'm able to import and export .mov files, as that's what the director prefers.  I'd love some help as everyone I talk to just tells me to run ProTools or Logic on a Mac and I won't have these problems.  Pffftt...

    It's important that I'm able to import and export .mov

    We use .mov files with Sonar all the time here. What codec are you using in the .mov? Open it in Quicktime Player and press ctrl-I and report what it says. We've settled on mpeg-4 video and aac audio as good choices for the files we receive to create soundtracks for.

    Don't try to export a video from Sonar. It just doesn't work well for .mov files. Instead, buy Quicktime Pro and then export your soundtrack out of Sonar and use QT Pro to add the soundtrack to the video. It's quick, reliable, and it doesn't re-encode the video.

    Thank you so much!  Even though I've had Quicktime Pro for years, for some reason I'd never thought of adding the soundtrack that way.  Works great. 

    So I opened it in Quicktime and pressed Cntrl I.  It won't let me cut and paste, but I think you want what it says under "format" right? Here's what it says:

    DV/DVCPRO-NTSC, 853x480, millions 16-bit integer (Little Endian), Stereo, 48.000kHz
