superior drummer/session drummer does not produce audio after pushing play button
The following problems occurs in both Superior Drummer 2.0 and Session Drummer in both 8.5 and X1a.
I’ll use Superior Drummer in the example, but Session Drummer does the same
Steps that I do
1. Create new project with one audio and one midi track
2. Load an instance of Superior Drummer in the audio track
3. Assign the midi track output to the Superior Drummer instance
4. Load a sound kit
5. On the Superior Drummer interface, I can hit the individual drums and drums will trigger audio that I can hear
6. In track view, push the play button and let it run a couple of seconds.
7. When I go back to the Superior Drummer interface and hit a drum, you can visually see the drum being hit on the interface, but the audio does not get generated.
8. At this point, I can put midi notes on the piano roll of the midi channel, push play and the audio will be heard.
9. But I cannot hit any of the notes (in piano roll view) to produce sound, I can see that the meter jumps on the midi channel, but again not sound.
10. The midi information will play fine when put into the midi channel and pushing the play button, but I cannot fire a drum on the interface or play a single note in the midi track (piano roll view) .
The only way to stop this is to close the project and open a new one.
I remember several versions of Sonar ago this did work for me, not with Sonar 8 and above it’s broke. I’ve been living with this for a few years and now, I’m just wishing someone could tell me what’s broke.
Thanks a bunch…
