40 bucks for what is purportedly a very accurate emulation of the Fairchild 670 compressor!

Note that the sale prices aren't shown on the site. To get the 60% off you have to use the promo code "SINGLES" when you order.

Got the 670 yesterday. Haven't been able to play with it yet though.

bit. it's good ,not sure if  Jim R is also a fan of it also , or the CSR things (I forget which).. he posted ages ago when they were running the other offer

I bought the singles and CSR a while back, as they were on offer (before the sampletank offers) . They will probably do an offer on CSR after.. OR the shell for t-racks as an extra to combine them all like they did last time.

Just downloaded the demo for both the 670 and the multiband limiter. Demo is fully functional for 10 days.

IK Multimedia's plugins are definetly of great value! I own AMPEG and T-racks classics, but I am looking forward into buying Amplitube also. Anyway, AMPEG and the Softube bass amp are THE plugins for basslines :D

Bought it 1-1/2 years ago... it has never made it into a mix.

    Missing out on what?

I have it... every time I place it in a mix I listen for a while and then delete the instance.

The thing I'm missing out on is the time I waste each time I try it.

I have a lot of effects that look good on paper and do exactly as advertised but I can't ever seem to find any actual use for them.

The bundled Transient Shaper plugin is a case in point. I've tried and tried but it's never quite what I want and ends up being deleted. (The one that's built into Superior Drummer, OTOH, is primitive by comparison but I use it all the time to good effect.)

I've been dropping the 670 into various projects this weekend, trying it on different types of tracks and songs. It works just fine.  Maybe it's just my ignorance, but I am still on the hunt for that "magic glue" effect they're all talking about.

Slapped on a vocal track I was working on and I liked what it did. I've been in the tracking phase on my latest song, so I haven't put it on the 2 buss yet.

Off topic, but I watched the Groove 3 video "Mixing Rock" with Kenny Goia(sp?) where he set up his 2 buss with three compressors with each doing a slight amount of compression. I'm gonna try it, using the 670 and others I have, when I get to mixing what I'm working on now.

For me the question would be how it compares to the UAD plugins (well, if I can ever get more than 1 to work at a time reliabliy)
