Simply Amazing!

Wow! This really is cool!

Shows the potential of X1 and it looks amazing.

Hopefully Cakewalk can do something like this. Or even incorparate it into X1.

Benstat's (and Panup's) amazing Sonar X1 add-on program:

Sonar Plus Version 1 arrives tonight!

http://www.sonarplus.co.uk/Pages/About.aspx

and Sonar Mods as well by Panup:

http://www.sonarmods.com/

Check it out and if you really really like it as much as I do, click his donation button as buy him (them) a beer! I did.

Great job guys! I REALLY appreciate all of the hard work both Benstat and Panup have put into all of these X1 apps and mods.

Thanks guys, Simply Amazing!

I have been watching the developments on Sonar Plus carefully. For a user to go to this effort to try to make an add-on tool that would respond directly to the needs of users speaks volumes about the desire to have a DAW that works for professionals. The willingness to do so on a casual, donation based situation says even more. Cakewalk's silence on the matter also speaks volumes.

I wonder if X1b going to put the proverbial wrench into Sonar Plus? Is Cakewalk going to recognize the value of this tool and add some version of their own? Are they going to look at Sonar Plus as a viable option that addresses a portion of their market, and let those who like it continue to use it as added functionality? The answers to these questions will go a long way toward my own decision to remain a Sonar user. I would hate to see this effort and the sincere desire to make something that works for professionals go to waste.

Paul I don't look at it that way. I see CW not saying anything as a good thing for us all. It has been their policy not to comment on benign mods to Sonar for I believe very good reasons. If you push them to make any comment it may mean an end to that policy.

By being silent they are not seeing this as an issue for them. At the same time they are not forbidding it. Let sleeping dogs lie.

well anybody that's on a previous version of SONAR should now really consider upgrading to X1 because of all the exciting new features, SONAR Plus, Panup's mods and the upcoming SONAR Plus Skin Editor.

Benstat should be considered apart of the Cakewalk family and should be hired right away to help develop new versions of SONAR.  A lot of the features and functionality would have never been addressed or implemented into SONAR if it wasn't for benstat's SONAR Plus.  I think he would be a creative spark to the Cakewalk family of developers.

My bet would be that they are taking note and may indeed do something cool and creative with it. We'll see what the full X1b looks like. It may have some of these mods already implemented.

    One can only hope.

Either way, these mods are a great thing for all X1 users.

I'm not a programmer, so I've got to ask...

Will these "mods" in any way present any possible conflicts with the X1B changes?

    Hi JonD,

    Thanks for asking!

Current mods are not compatible with X1b.
New mod versions will be available straight after X1b is released.

I think he's asking whether we'll have to uninstall the mods/plus before we install the new patch? This is on my mind as well. It's simple enough to uninstall but it would be nice to know for sure one way or the other.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.
