ua-25EX CLICKS POPS AND CRACKLES PLEEEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

when i listen to a song i recorded through my ua25ex i hear alot of crackling and pops through the right earphone. sounds like someones eating rice crispys in my ear. but when i plug into my laptop i dont hear anything. no crackles pops or other sounds. im not sure what to do because when i plug into the compute i can hear the music im trying to record to but not the guitar im using to record with. and when im plugged into the ua25ex i hear all the pops and crackles. not sure what to do.

also! when i was recording drums the first take came out fine. but when i muted those tracks and recorded another take it seemed like it recorded in a stutter. like it was skipping. not sure why that is also. please help me out on this. by the way im using sonar 7 producer edition.

If I read it right, it sounds like a driver may be in question.  When you recorded the drums, was that through the UA25EX?

It would help if you gave specs on all your hardware.

cakewalk ua-25ex /sonar 7 producer edition/ hp pavilion dv5-1125nr entertainment notebook/ running on windows vista 64 bit edition

yeah i recorded the drum tracks through the ua25ex. the first take was fine but when we did another take it started to have the skipping sound. i thought it was the program so i exported the drum track and played it through windows media player and it did the same thing at the same spots. so it had to have been recorded that way.

Chris, it is either a driver issue or that one channel is clipping.

First install and download the latest UA 25 drivers from Cakewalk and then run your wave profiler.

Then Go into Options > Audio > General and make sure your in ASIO or WDM driver mode. Try both and see what works best. In asio driver mode you need to change the asio buffers by clicking the asio tab. try from 64, 96, 128, 256, 512 and 1024 and see what works best for that project.
In wdm driver mode, you adjust the slider. Try something that gives your between 3ms to 20ms

okay so im in asio mode. when i click the asio tab below the buffer size slider i have no way of knowing when im at 64 96 128 and so on. i downloaded the new drivers like you said but im stuck.
i tried wdm mode and i want sure what you ment between 3ms to 20ms. so in the general tab i have the buffers in playback queue at 4 and the all the way down. but eather way i move these that problem with the crackling is still there. i dont know what to do now.

also when ever i click out of something or mess with the volume it crackles. and when i hit wave profiler it crackles alot. sounds like the computer working or something.
