Filter?

How Come Cw dose not have a real filter included with Sonar.. You got the Mod filter and the Z8ta thats it really.. Logic has a awesome filter with LFo sync , Live has a nice filter , S1 has a nice filter. Cubase, pro tools all come with a filter, BUt CW has crap in the filter section.. Nothing that I can find in Cw comes close to any of the other Daws as far as a filter plugin goes..

I like to trade in , Beatscape, MV, Roland Groove synth, TTS1,Rapture le, Studio instruments, Rxp, Cyclone,Sound center, For a good Filter..

I'm guessing it's some kind of "cutoff" filter you find on synthesizers you want?

Since any filter is nothing but an eq of some sort maybe you could try and use "vintage channel vc64" for this?

If you use the 4th filter, set it to lopass and set the Q to around 2.24 (set it higher for more resonance) and then just sweep the frequency up and down.

I'm not sure this is what you're looking for.. Maybe though.. :)

I use Sugar Bytes Wow, Its awesome but I shouldn't of had to buy one. Filters are use extensively In my type of music. Its Odd Cw dosn't have one..  I do use the Pro channels Eq to sweep, Make thin and thick explosions. But its not the same as a filter..

In what way does Sonar X1 not have a filter? It has a lot of filters.

Well, yes.. Suger Bytes Wow and any filter on a synthesizer is an Eq.
I've been making lots of electronic music myself and know this for a fact.

An analouge synth starts off with raw waveform. In itself it just sounds... ...angry.

Then you use the cutoff-filter to cut off the high spectra of the frequency band (just like a hipass setting on any eq)

The resonance knob is nothing but a gain-booster for the freq

And with the Q you set how steep you want the filter to be.

Have you tried to use the vc64 in the way I described in my prev. msg?

It's not as simple as the suger bytes wow with just a box and a knob.
But you can get the job done with vc64 too, I'm sure

I hear Ya ..   I really never use the VC64 ever, I don't know why but it's one of those plugins I tend not to use, I'll give your idea shot. I basicly do the same with the Pro channel Eq, But I like the sync features of an LFo. ect . Plus nothing sound as good as my Xone 92 filters , I was a little pissed when Traktor 12 didn't include the Allen heath Filters :(

Ah! Now I understand what you mean! :)

The filter, though, is just a small part of these effects.
Here you have LFO's and stuff too! :) (LFO's are coool!)

    And I totally agree!
It would be very nice to have something like this intergrated in Sonar! :)

    No problem!
There must be some legal information about it somewhere!
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ..or not...
I just found this in a forum somewhere
"someone on KVR made a vst version of the sherman filterbank ones
but havent used a filterbank so dont know how close it was

sorry i dont have a link, but you should be able to find it"

..So I'm sorry.. I shouldn't be so freakin' hasty.. :P

    However.. I found this site:
    http://www.tone2.com/html/filterbank3_vsti_vst_au_synthe.html
    It's not very expensive either.

Or maybe you can find something that works on this site:
    http://www.remixsoft.com/plugins/vst-mac-filter-lfo/
    Lots of them are free
