Clip editing question

I was wondering how to merge 2 separate clips that are on the same track into one clip?

Thanks!

Select the clips, right click, bounce to clip

It can sometimes be useful to bounce two clips into one, as per BigDog's explanation, but it can be more often useful to keep clips as separate entities.  It's nice to have the choice.
