Har-Bal V3 in beta

Might be an interesting development for those of us who bought Har-Bal long ago only to let it gather dust ever since.

Version 3 will include dynamics processing. Now this is interesting, because due to the way Har-Bal works (by first analyzing the entire file) it can approach compression and limiting in a different way than what we're used to. Because it already knows where all the peaks are (and more important, what happened before and after those peaks), it can in theory make more intelligent decisions about how to handle them. This could (again, in theory) be superior to traditional limiting in which a single basic rule is blindly applied to an entire song.

Here's an explanation from the developers. It's thought-provoking.

BTW, the beta is public and any registered Har-Bal users can request to participate. I've sent in my request.

    For some years now specializes in different things for friends is low budget and largely out of necessity, to work. This room is not exactly an expert, so we proceed with the best as we will include dynamics processing can.Version 3. Now this is interesting because the way because everyone - the hair does this compression approach can work and what we're used to a different way than the limit.

    No release date announced yet. It's still in beta. But it's a public beta so you can sign up and have a peek.
