Sonar project won't open : everything is shaking... Litterally !

Weird thing I've never seen before : please help !

Just tried to open a SONAR project (8.5.3) and no tracks appear in the track pane, plus most effect windows stay blank, are shaking, menu of Sonar is shaking, nothing open !!

EDITING ON THIS MESSAGE : I now notice other projects are ok And for this specific project, I can open it correctly in... SONAR X1...

As far as I remember, I could have opened the project in X1 but as I still don't really work with X1 I normally don't save work in progress there... However, I'm now in doubt.  Could this be (what I describe above) what it would do if a 8.5.3 project be saved in X1 ??

Anyone ever seen *done) this before ?

Thanks,

Rob

Post in x1 forum, obviously we are still here because we haven't upgraded,  so most have no experience with x1. Are you in Japan?

Try opening Sonar from your Start Menu, then browsing to the file you want to open and opening while holding down the SHIFT button.

This will open the project in Safe mode, where you can choose whether or not to load each or all plugins. I always start with no plugins in that situation. If the project loads without them then the chances are you have a plugin that is causing problems. You can selectively run Safe Mode by type to try and troubleshoot this.

Word to the wise on a known issue: if you have the Sonitus Delay on a project it may cause the project to crash if it was installed from a Sonar install disc later than 8.0. There were updates made to the delay that introduced a memory leak and can cause Sonar to crash when that plugin is loaded. To fix, simply use an 8.0 or older disc to install the Sonitus Delay over the top of the original by un-checking everything but that delay on the install and making sure you install it to the same VST directory (most likely the default unless you monkey with things.)

    Peace,

    Joshua
