Problem Reporter once problem is 'passed to development' then what?

When a problem reported via the problem reporter reaches the status of 'Passed to Development for further investigation' then what happens?
I have one such problem that I am anxious to have fixed but since it became this status there has been no further update.

It's almost as though once a problem is 'passed to development' Cakewalk feel that no further feedback is required by whoever reported the problem. Well I'm afraid I'd like to know more. I'd like to know when the bug will be fixed.

Just because a bug is 'passed to development' that should not mean the end of the matter.

I would imagine that when the problem is corrected you will be notified.

As far as I'm aware even if they can reproduce your problem and it goe through to Development; should they decide to fix it it will be given a priority for inclusion in a future update or release.

consequently your bug may get "fixed" but not released for an update or future release for some time.

They probably assumed you would know it would need to addressed in one of the next major updates rather than individually and that there would be nothing to report until they decided whether it was X1b or something further down the road.

They haven't acknowledged that they've even identified the problem, merely that they have passed it to development for further investigation....and then nothing. :( I just get the impression that the 'passed it to development' status is Cakewalk's way of saying 'if there is a problem it might get fixed but please don't bother us about it anymore'......I'm not sure that I like that attitude.

The problem reporter used to just say "Submitted To Development", with no explanation of what it actually meant. At some piont I was in an email discussion with someone from CW and they were surprised to find out that I didn't know that "Submitted To Development" was code for "We were able to reproduce your problem and it is now officially on development's list of bugs". So at some point they updated their wording to make this clearer.

Sadly, Submitted To Development" doesn't mean your bug will be fixed any time soon. I have multiple bugs that have been "Submitted To Development" (read: confirmed) that still haven't been fixed in over two and a half years (something like 2 major releases + 5 patches later). Don't hold your breath since it is very likely that your bug could be triaged into oblivion...
