How Do you Use the ACT function in Sonar 7XL

I recently purchased an Akai lpd8 to use in Sonar 7 XL. I installed the drivers and plugged it in and Window 7 is not recognizing the usb device. And also how do the ACT work in Sonar. Do anyone have information to help.

if windows does not recognize it then you can't use it in sonar either.  you'll need to go to akai's website and see if they have updated win7 drivers for you.

as far as ACT goes, I have never used it.  check the help manual since no one seems to be answering here

If win 7 and Sonar recognize it, open Sonar and bring up the VST of your choice.  Enable ACT.  With your mouse, grab any knob or slider in the VST and wiggle it.  Turn to your keyboard and wiggle any knob or slider  or hit any button you wish to use to control the VST's previously wiggled parameter.  Do this for all parameters of all VST's you wish to control.  Disable act.  If you've done it right hit yes.   You should still check out the help file as it's way more informative than I am.

Google is your friend!  Search for "sonar act".  The first few links, including some YouTube videos, should help you out.
