stretch then loop trouble

I know this is easy but I can't figure it.

I have imported a drum beat. I have stretched it 80% shorter to how I want it.
BUT now I can't loop it without it changing to a different tempo.

What the hell do I do? I have bounced it to clip also tried bouncing to track but every time I try to loop it as a groove clip loses it tempo for some reason. The loop goes faster again? How do I keep it the same as the stretch and then loop.

1. Stretch
2. bounce to clip
3. Groove loop =  :(  ????????????

EDIT- forgot to add....the clip isn't actually going back to the way it was before it was stretched it's just shrinking a little once i groove loop mode it. The shrink is enough to make it go out of time.

Guessing because your list of steps doesn't say what kind of clip is imported and what kind of stretch you do, how you have the project tempo set, etc. But... after your step 3, when you check the groove clip properties for the clip, does it say the correct number of beats? If not, change it and see if that fixes it.

Thanks.....actually that's helped, pointed me in the right direction.

I'd no idea that the project tempo was set to 120bpm and my wav 117.488bmp

In future I think I'll try to work to a beat at 120. It might makes things easier. :)

    thanks 4 help
