trying to install Addictive drums, sonar x1 producer, windows 7

Hello group, I took the big leap yesterday and bought windows 7 64.  I am trying to load everything onto my laptop.  At the moment I am fighting with addictive drums.

When I installed it I was given these two locations for installation, I just copied the information to a sticky and didn't really read what the particulars were and clicked yes.  The locations are I copied to the sticky and where the program is stored
C:\Program Files (x86)\XLN Audio\Addictive Drums
and
C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins

So open x1 and go to plug in manager and  Cakewalk did not find addictive drums.
next, I copied and pasted both the above directories into cakewalk plugin manager/options/add and told it where I installed addictive drums on my c drive.

I come back out and hit scan vst plug in and still can't find it?

Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong.

Thanks for your help

You didn't install Sonar 64 then?
Edit: sorry, just saw in your sig that you did.
I did this a couple of weeks ago but can't recall all the ins and outs.  But I do know that I have the AD dll in both C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VSTplugins (64 bit area) as well as C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\VSTplugins (32 bit area).  In Sonar/Tools/plugin Manager/Options both destinations are specified.

Hope my first post helps.  NB: I didn't install JBridge, Sonar's bit bridge seemed to take of things behind the scenes without me interfering.

Thank you for the info skyline, I bought my first computer in 1992 and I am just as stupid today at using them as I was back then.  I am not sure what to try next.  I just let the software install where it tells me , make a note and hope for the best.

    The two places
    C:\Program Files (x86)\XLN Audio\Addictive Drums
    and
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins

are all addictive drums installed to as far as I can tell.  I am not sure where to go from here.  But I sure appreciate your response.  I will keep trying. Thanks again

Did you download the latest version from XLN ?  I had to do that and it may have a bearing on things.  Also, try copying the AD dll file across to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VSTplugins.

no, I didn't skyline, thanks for the idea.  I will download it now.  I am not sure what the addictive drums dll file is or even where it is located.  I will try to update the addictive drums program now.
Thanks again for your help, I will check back if the new version helps or not.

I'm not trying to offend here but are you looking in the vsti section. Make sure it is selected in the left pane of the plug in manager. It should be there. If not, rescan your plug in folders. That's in preferences/vst settings. It's even possible that the folder you mentioned is not ever there in the vst settings.

Bitbridge never worked properly with AD for me. I downloaded JBridge and installed it. Then I went to the plug in manager and selected AD and clicked on the properties button. There is a checkbox that says to use the JBridge wrapper. Check that.

    It should be fine.

No offense taken, I just muddle through this stuff one problem at a time.. I did check all the different sections repeatedly.  vst, vsti, and all the others. I have done the scan again several times, now I am installing the v1.52, I had the origional disk that I bought a couple years ago.  Maybe things will fall into place with the new vesion.  At least I hope so.  Thanks for your help.

Great news! Glad you got it working.

I did not know 1.52 was out though. I'll have to check it out.
