Guitar Rig 4 - Still Can't Get The Presets! <Solved>
Hi All... Well... I installed it, activated it, downloaded and installed the update... Now at least I have the devices.... but no presets... I tried to "import", but none of the avilabel presets will even load (Are these GR3?) Any thoughts? I could use some ideas... I'm resisting uninstalling re/installing as I hate the re-activation issue... If I remember correctly, NI allows a limited number of these... But that is the only other thing I can think to try... Do you have the full version or the LE version? I am having the same things you describe with the LE version and I decided it must be that the presets are calling for components that are not included so it just doesn't load them. I don't know if this is correct or not. I only have 1 guitar amp that shows up(Jump)and like one or two of everything else(reverbs ,compressors ,etc.). I would sure like to find out what is included in the LE as far as components.Also you can import the GR3 presets into GR 4..

Hi teego... It is only the LE version that's included with Sonar... and this is not necessarily "typical". I'm installing it on a friend's system... I already have it installed in mine and it has all the presets... The differences? Mine was installed from disk and this new install is from the downloaded version... Other than that? Different hardware and OS... You should see 3 amps... Jump Twang Reverb, and Bass Pro each with a matching cabinet Delay - Delay Man and Twin Delay Distortion - Demon and Skreamer Dynamics - Limiter, Noise Gate. Noise Reduction, Stomp Compressor, Tube Compressor, and Volume Pedal Equalizer - EQ Graphic, EQ Parametric, and EQ Shelving Filters - AutoFilter, Pro-Filter, and Real Wah Modifier - Analog Sequencer, Envelope, Input Level, LFO, and Step Sequencer Modulation - Flanger and Phaser Nine Reverb - Studio Reverb Tools - CrossOver, Master FX, and Split I hope that helps a little... Thanks Keni,that is just what I have! I wish I could help you out with your problem but unfortunately I just started playing with GR. I do remember reading something a while back about Gr4 not recognizing the .kds or whatever that extension is for presets. The best I remember you had to load them as a bank or something. I think I read about it on Guitar rig forum , but I just kinda gave up on it and haven't fooled with Guitar Rig until now.I Hope this will help ya!

We had a problem loading it onto my second machine, once I downloaded and installed the latest patch it recognized all the presets, very strange cause it loaded fine on the primary box.

On GR3 LE I had access to all the presets but lost the full versions when I authorized it. Bummer. That makes more sense, tho, than not having them all. But glad you got it sorted out for your friend.

Did you try re-installing GR3? maybe some glitch as with my GR4 install? I'm a bit confused as to which version had/has which problem... They both installed clean on my own system (needing the update for GR4 of course) Keni

Hi Lynn... I do agree... I use both this and The free version of Amplitube on occasion.... Each is sometimes a good solution... Sometimes neither... ;-) One day I'd love to be able to affor buying the full GR4 (or whatever version they're up to by then) and the Amplitube Fender and Hendrix sets.... I can dream, can't I ;-) Keni

I just downloaded the X1 Producer Extended bundle and had GR3 previously as part of my VS-100 package. I loaded all updates from CW an NI. Everything loaded fine and the presets for GR4 were all present and operating on the demo version but once I activated it, the presets disappeared.
I've re-installed twice with the same results although once the headlines for the preset categories were there with no content so I called NI. They punted it back to Cakewalk. Cakewalk said reinstall. I disabled all items on my Startup menu and no active antvirus with the same flippin results.
I'm almost three days into this and stuck... anyone have any ideas? I'm running Windows 7 64 bit but installed the 32 bit version of X1 as my previous projects on VS had been recorded that way.

IIRC you should run the stand alone version after installation and patching before running the dll in Sonar. Worked for me.
