Post-sale service from Jim Roseberry/Studiocat

I just want to thank Jim Roseberry for providing excellent post-sale customer service for his fine DAW's.

I bought a DAW from Jim around last Christmas and it's been rock solid, no problems of any kind.  This week, I tried putting a free VST amp simulator into a project in Sonar 8.5.3 32 bit and the VST totally crashed Sonar and Windows 7, giving me a BSOD.  When I rebooted my machine, I noticed the RAM speed was 1066 instead of 1600 as it should have been.  Naturally, I was a bit concerned about this so I called Jim to see if he could walk me through re-setting the RAM speed correctly in the BIOS.  Jim called me back promptly and cheerfully helped me get the RAM back to it's normal speed.  That's what I call excellent customer service after the sale.  The machine is back to normal and all is well and I'm a happy customer.

I'd recommend Jim/Studiocat to anyone considering buying a new DAW.  Not only is Jim very friendly and easy to work with, but he provides the sort of service that one doesn't see that often these days.

Absolutely agree, Scott.  Not to mention that when one buys from an expert builder such as Jim or yourself, one knows the system was designed specifically for DAW use and not for business or other non-music use like Dell, etc..

I built my previous two DAW's and, though they both were rock-solid machines, I simply didn't feel like spending the many, many hours doing due dilligence that are required to find the components that play well together to build another one.  I haven't kept up with technology over the past few years and I wanted to buy a machine that I knew was going to work for my purposes immediately and right out of the box.

In addition, the value that guys like you and Jim provide is amazing.  I mean, I could not have saved enough money building my own machine (especially considering the hours of research required) to make it worth my while to build my own.

Add to that the great post-sale service and I can't see why anyone would build their own machine unless they just want to do so for the pleasure of doing it themselves.  I seriously doubt I'll ever build another DAW myself.  It's so much easier to let an expert do it and I can spend the time saved on making music (or at least trying to, anyways).
