Stopping automation at the end of a song
I've searched the help files, the PDF, and Googol for this, but I can't find the answer anywhere. How do I stop an automation envelope from going to infinity at the end of a song? I just want the timeline to go back to now when the song ends. I seem to remember this topic once before, but I forgot what was said. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.

It should still stop at the last node. The dotted line does not have an impact. If play is continuing on after the last clip check for layers on the track that may not appear on track without it on. It is also possible that if you imported an audio track there may be timestamps that extend beyond clip end that could also cause it. Applying trimming or bounce to clip may solve that. If there are nodes beyond the clip end, insert a node at clip end and delete any that resided beyond it. .

There are no layers on this track, and it isn't imported.

☄ Helpful
There's an old bug that I don't know is fixed in X1 (or even if it will be in X1B): If ANY clips are "muted" in the track, Sonar won't stop at end. It's been discussed on the forum before, so a search might yield some results.

Also make sure there isn't any stray MIDI data (CC's/sysx and the like).

I have both options selected which is why I'm wondering why they're not working. Though it's an audio track, I checked the event list to see if there was anything out there, but the last event stops at the last measure of the song. And, and, HOLY COW!!! While I was writing this reply, I went back and checked the song and noticed that there were some muted clips in a different track that is MIDI. I deleted the muted clips, and all is well, now. Thank you, Billy, for pointing me in the right direction. I hope that this bug gets some attention at some point. It's not a major issue, but is annoying.

Call me a skeptic - but I suspect that muted clip bug is not fixed yet. I hope I'm wrong. It's bitten me many times and is a bit annoying.

HumbleNoise Learned something here - thanks. Has anyone reported that bug? It's an old bug - been around for a few iterations, and I'm 99% sure CW know about it, Larry. I will wait for X1B to see if it's still there, but it is in X1/A and previous versions.

HumbleNoise Learned something here - thanks. Has anyone reported that bug? I just did, although like Billy said, it's probably well known.
