prv and velocity painting


Trying out a new virtual instrument software. I have the pattern set up in prv, and the notes. It plays fine, but want to adjust velocity by paint brush mode

When I go to the bottom pane in prv , it says velocity, it has the bars so to speak for velocity, and when I paint like hills in that pane, it changes all the velocity like I paint.

But when I play it back, it is all same velocity.

the reason I know this is I have some notes set at very near zero, and others at 100, but they all play same velocity.

What am I doing wrong?

Dual Quad
8 gigs of ram

Sonar Producer 8.5.3

    You should be hearing a difference. What is the synth? Maybe it doesn't respond to velocity? This would be odd, but you never know.
    Try changing the MIDI track output to a different synth, and see what happens.

    it is RealStrat, and it is editable according to docs to do it this way.
