Need all relevant info on Focusrite Pro 24 and X1...

Am narrowing my search for a new interface.  Have heard pros and cons about this one.  All info will be sincerely appreciated.

my guitarist has it..its awesome cant tell you much about the specs cause i dont use it enough,i bought the focusrite saffire 6 usb cause i dont gots im on fire wire..the pre amps in these little ponys are driven like my wife have no fury(nice and hot)my guit players pre amps sound like hes got a low end growl to prefection like ive never herd before..i warn you there tech support is a little strange..i got through on the first ring and i felt i knew more about it than he did..he sounded like he was the only person there..yesterday i tried downloading the latest drivers and my norton anti virus went nuts saying the driver was a medium threat and causes suspicious behavior..i notified tech support again by email to let them know i talked to them by phone already once and fix the problem, thats what im selling my ole pal..i do love it still

Hi Yoropal,i'm a Saffire Pro 26 io and is awesome!!!!Focusrite is (for me)the best preamp interface for musicality. It beats the Fireface (it's my taste)too.I just done a record drums session and i love the details of HH and the body af kick.
Buy the Focusrite !!!!(i'm not their seller)

Chuckebaby, why do you have antivirus running while you use SONAR, or any other production type software? Just asking for problems like dropouts, stutters, mysterious audio engine shut downs, and disappearing files/work! just to name a few.

    I have a Focusrite ISA 428 pre and use it a lot ! I love it !

    Hope this helps !

    Have you considered this?
    http://www.amazon.com/1616M-PCIe-Digital-Audio-System/dp/B002VDQIP0

I think pci e is better than firewire. I tried firewire focusrite pro 40 and the latency was horrific for me. Had to run the buffers so low that plugins were unusable for the most part. PCI is much more stable. Sent the focusrite back. Got this instead. Great stability and the patchmix is very flexible. ADAT hookup allows eight more tracks.

No open PCIe slots.  Fire Wire would be OK.  I need something that's as low latency (or close) as my current Fast Track Ultra which, unfortunately, is proving problematic on a couple of fronts.  I never had any problems with my old Focusrite Saffire LE...but it's been discontinued and doesn't have Win7 64bit drivers...which I have to have.

Last year I was thinking about that EMU pcie when it was available but did not see the 64bit drivers for W7. I have the Delta 44 which has low latency with the 64 bit driver and recently tried the Fast track Ultra but did not notice any difference in latency. I want to upgrade as well, maybe to the EMU 1616M pcie but it would nice to hear more user reviews on that. Later this year the Focusrite Rednet really looks interesting but may be out of my price range. I know im not helping in regard to the original post questions,,sorry.

I'm not using windoze 7, I know there is a beta driver here for the emu:
    http://connect.creativelabs.com/emu/default.aspx

    I've also heard the xp/vista 2.1 driver works with Win 7 - don't know.
