Help Some Sonar 8.5.3 Studio Setup Help

My sound card, Realtek, is within the chipset of my Intel i7 CPU. With help I have been able to play MIDI files out through the speakers using the Realtek speakers out option (and the Microsoft wavetable synthesizer sounds). I have tried using the TT S – 1 soft synthesizer. When I used to synthesizer to output to the Realtek speakers I get sounds s from the instruments which are always piano. I have tried to switch to other instruments and it shows that I have switched to that instrument but when I go to play the MIDI track it keeps playing the same piano instrument I have tried the button at the bottom of the synthesizer to audition the sound and it does not produce any sound for the selected instrument or the default piano instrument. So my first question is what is the proper way to set up TTS – 1 synthesizer so that the MIDI file plays into the TTS  – 1 and then have the TTS – 1 output it selected instrument or instruments sounds to the computers speakers. There are  two other soft synthesizers that I would like to get set up this way – that is MIDI and Saul synthesizer out to speakers – they or dimension and rapture.

Also, with the soft synthesizers, such as TTS – 1, dimension and rapture, do you insert on each MIDI track or does the soft synthesizer handle all the MIDI tracks that you have open in Sonar?

I have done searches here and have not found any tutorials explain how to set these soft synthesizers up. I have found some that show you how to use them once they are set up. I have done Google searches and found basically the same as my searches here. I have done YouTube searches and once again it's on how to use the dials etc. of the synthesizer and not how to set it up for MIDI tracks to synthesizer and then synthesizer to output the sounds to the speakers.

Also, If you know of any videos or tutorials that helps with this please post a link to them.

you don't change the patch on the GUI of TTS-1, you change the patches from the MIDI track properties pull down menus.  on the track properties, pull down the menus for the CHANNEL, BANK and PATCH there only.  if you change it from the face of TTS-1 then it will change back because the track properties have the default values and they override the face of TTS-1.

don't insert them on the midi track itself, you have to have a separate midi track for each softsynth, but insert it either from the INSERT>SOFTSYNTH menu or insert it from the SYNTH RACK.

you need to work thru the tutorials in the help files.  they have a lot of great info on how to use softsynths.  open the HELP file (F1, or just click on the GETTING STARTED link when the dialog box pops up at the very beginning asking if you want to create a new project file, open one or "getting started").  then follow the links in the help file for the tutorials.
