From memory it covers Dimension Pro, Rapture and Z3TA which are the main synths in Sonar, these haven't change much over the last few years.

Scott will be lurking around here somewhere to answer your questoin though. :P

I have it, I think I learned alot. Guitarist, not a keyboardist, so even simple info works for me.
There is now a second edition available. Will most likely buy it when I get my studio done.

Eyes, I think the Scott you are referring to writes "Sonar Power".

Simon Cann is the author of "Cake Synths..."

    Again, worked for me...
I think I reviewed it on Amazon, I think?

    (edit, I can't spell, sorry)

I have only read the first edition, but I remember that it was a pretty well-written book, worthy of it's subtitle. Simon Cann is a good writer, good at explaining things. It also functions as a relatively easy to understand introduction to the basic principles of sound-synthesis, which doesn't change much over time, so, in a way, it doesn't matter if the book isn't 100% up to date.  As a little treat at the end of the book there was an interview with synth expert René Ceballos from rgc:audio which I remember appreciating.  Recommended!

I found it a very good book not only for its Cakewalk synths specific info but for MIDI info as well/

The first edition included a listing and examples of use of sfz format opcodes.
