Export Audio Options Greyed Out - SOLVED

Can't export audio... Can't bounce to track.

Using Sonar X1a - rest of stats are in my signature.

Just having trouble exporting with this one project...  All others have been fine.

This particular project is made primarily with X1-included loops, effects, and an instance or two of Omnisphere.

Nothing about this raises any flags for me...  Everything plays just fine.

I even get a waveform image on the master bus...

I hit 'Select All' (as is my custom) and drag the time line just past the stop point so I capture
the after-effects...  Go to file > export > .....and everything in the export menu is greyed out except for 'template'...

What am I missing?

Thanks!!

Patrick I see the first post was over a month ago. Is the the same issue? What have you tried?

You say you have a couple of instances of Omnisphere. Have those instances been 'bounced to track' to create audio tracks for export? Exporting Audio is for exporting Audio so if there's still a MIDI track associated with those Omni tracks and you 'select all' Sonar will not 'export' that MIDI info as audio.

Not knowing exactly what the problem is I would bounce to track every MIDI track so you have only Audio that you're dealing with. Once you have everything in Audio format, do not 'select all.' Select ONLY the Audio tracks (not the MIDI) and see if those will export. If not then bounce all those audio tracks to a single track and export that.

Why is it you want to export anyway? I only ask because there might another way to accomplish the same thing.

are you selecting all your tracks?are you selecting the range of your song?..you need to have these things active in order to export...bump for you too.

Hmm.. I just tried creating an Audio and MIDI track (from a single synth) hit cntrl 'A' to select all and went to File>Export>Audio and it worked fine. Not sure what's up but am pretty sure my post above will be of little help.

Yeah.. I was just bumping because I hadn't heard a solution from a month ago - figured I'd give it another shot.

This one project was the only one I was having trouble on...  I've been using Sonar for 3 years now, so I've
been able to cover all the traditional 'noob' stuff on my own..  Select All, etc..

I did, however just update to Sonar X1b - and went directly to the project, and BAM - it works fine.

I realize that I'm not above making stupid mistakes - but I think this was some strange, hidden glitch -
but it seems to be repaired with the X1B update (which I should have done before BUMPing this. :)

Thank you, however, for you replies. :)

Glad you got it working. I've had a few of my own 'magic' moments with X1 as well.

Great, Patrick - It'd be good to edit your subject line now with "Solved with X1b" or something.  I went through the thread looking to be helpful--but hidden in here is that the issue has been solved--Hence why it'd be good if you could update the subject line.  Thanks.
