X1b - Plugins not scanning. UAD plugins not recognized.

Installed the update. Now none of my UAD plugins are recognized. Sonar doesn't appear to be scanning any of my plugins at startup. So frustrating. Anyone else have this problem?

I am having no problem with the UAD plugs here. You know you don't need to rescan your plugins on every start up, right? You only need to scan when you install a new plugin.

Yeah, I understand that. But I told Sonar to re-scan on startup and it doesn't. Also the option the rescan the folders is greyed out.

There is no need to do a rescan. I just installed X1b over the top of X1a and all of my UAD plug-ins show up & work just the way I had them in X1a.

    Cheers,

I'd love to do a rescan even though I shouldn't have to, but since the update the rescan plugins under preferences is greyed out.

Also the option the rescan the folders is greyed out.

Launch X1 while holding down the shift key and it will restore the path to the VST scanner if its missing.

Tried the shift key thing but it didn't fix the problem. I called tech support and they recommended I reinstall everything.

Yeah, I tried everything. I've already uninstalled the program using the instructions tech support sent. I'll reinstall it and hope it works.

I didn't know you could stop Sonar scanning plugins on startup. How do you do that?

I vaguely remember having this VST problem a few years ago... same deal, SCAN VST greyed out. I think tech support finally had me do something in the registry files to get it to work... don't remember exactly what is was that they had me change for it was quite awhile ago.

    Good luck.

with X1 open the system menu - Edit, then Preferences.
When the Preferences window pops up click on VST Settings (under File operations) and look for "Scan for VST Plug-ins on Startup"
