X1b and V-Vocal
My biggest problems with X1a have been V-Vocal problems. To name two... Bounce to Clip always causes a crash if a V-Vocal clip is included. (Bounce to Track works.) In one instance, after saving and re-opening a project, all the V-Vocal clips were silent. The waveform shows in the Track View, but if you open the clip in V-Vocal there's nothing there at all. The X1b changes blurb doesn't mention these things. Has anyone else had this happen, and even better, does X1b fix it? I'll find out tonight, but the anticipation...

Good news is V-Vocal seems to be working well here so far in X1b but the bad news is V-Vocal has worked well for me since V7. I had that "flatline" bug once but it seemed to be caused by having another project open at the same time, now the "Only allow one project at a time" option works, I'm hoping I don't see that again. Hope XIb sorts it for you though.

I'm with you... No mention of any actual repair/improvment to VV's actual performance, just operational issues... Here's hoping these were the cause of our individual VV issues... Keni

Here's from the first list of fixes they posted: Fixed a potential crash that could occur when changing time durations of a V-Vocal clip. Fixed a potential crash that could occur when removing a V-Vocal clip. Fixed a potential crash that could occur when adjusting a V-Vocal clip. Addressed an error with looping V-Vocal clips. Included several general stability improvements when working with V-Vocal.

Yeah, that's what I saw... So now all I can do is hope that somehow (programming can be strange) fixing these items also fixes the artifacts issue that has been plaguing this program (V-Vocal) since it's inception! I wonder if one day they'll make it so that we can simply use freeze on tracks with VV too! <sigh>... Keni

No fix for me... X1b is installed, and adding a new vvocal clip causes the song to no longer play at all. And bounce to clip still causes a crash. Count me in with those who are extremely pissed about this.

<ouch>... That one really hurts... so far VV has been working most of the time for me... My personal main issues with it are the artifacts (even when nothing is changed) and the issues regarding freezing the track instead of bouncing.... Small but an annoyance... The first issue is really the big one for me... Here's hoping that X1b didn't break this more than it already is (here)... Keni

I just tried it seemed to work fine for me. I also tried Bouncing to Clip, no crashes doing so. Dan

From past experiences... When I freeze a track containing VV clips, too many problems occur when un-freezing... In the past I've been told that I'm "not supposed to freeze VV tracks".... I never quite understood that and still don't as there it appears to work, but buggy.... and I'm guessing it hasn't been changed as I've heard no mention... So now I've gotta play with hiding extra tracks and all the naming issues and such.... I now use Bounce to track insted so that it leaves my real track unaffected (archived and hidden)... It would be so much easier if freeze simply worked as expected (by ME!) Keni

Now I only used VV on an 8 bar clip and froze the 79 bar track. No issues at all. Unfroze it multiple times and refroze multiple times. What can I say-wish I could help you, but I cannot reproduce your issue? Gotta sleep now, still working in the day. I'll check back tomorrow. Maybe I am not doing what you are, I will try though. Nite

Has anyone checked the version of cronus.dll included in X1b to see if it's actually been updated? Is there a fix list that shows what's been changed?

Also, when VVocal crashes. Check the Task Manager. If Bitbridge is hung its a conflict with VVocal working with a 32bit plugin in a 64 bit environment. If Bitbridge is not hung that would be VVocal alone. Thats what I found.

I don't know what version it was before I updated. Fixes for VVocal in X1b are listed in post #4 of this thread.
