BUG or Me? Re Screenset - SOLVED!

I setup a screenset with my Console View on my 2nd Monitor.

EVERY time I bring it up, the MAINS are not there, even though I put them there and save it.
EVERY time I bring it up - the layout of the Console view is not the same.

What am I doing wrong?

This happened in X1A as well.

I can do screen shots if need be.

Screenset locked? That's my first thought. I'll try to reproduce it. Does the CV have to be on the second monitor for it to happen?

Screenset unlocked.  Not the problem.  Wish it was.  I haven't tried with the CV on the first monitor - but even if it somehow works there, that doesn't solve the problem.

And I just crashed switching screensets.  Oy.

Hi Billy, just got back from my DAW. Can't reproduce that at all. I tried undocking and floating the CV to see if that makes a difference. The mains show and I switched screensets several times but when I switched back the mains were still there.

Is it a particular screenset number or all of them?

I did get a whole different issue with track folders and contents displaying correctly which seemed to magically fix itself, but that's another story.

At the moment, Karl, it's only Screenset 2 that doesn't retain the settings.  And switching back to SS 1 crashes me.

So I'm going to do a full uninstall and reinstall.

I had loaded my "normal.cwt" from X1 (customized when X1 first came out) so maybe there's something there.

I'll let ya know what I discover.  I have some debugging to do -- as if I had nothing better to do with my time ...sigh.

SOLVED ... as I suspected, something about the template I started in X1 was the problem.

Redoing (fresh) the template seems to have solved this problem, at least.

It may be related to the crashing.  Will report back.

Good news for that one at least. There's an issue with screensets remembering the last tab viewed in the multidock though. Mentioned elsewhere and reported.

Karl, yeah I saw that post.   But what I think is interesting here - and may be of use to others - is that the project template causing the screenset issue for me was started fresh in X1 (not A).   I haven't touched it since (meaning no changes).

I have long suspected X1 and A had memory corruption problems or something like that (the bug list somewhat confirms that, no?), so I am thinking that we might see others get these problems and the solution may be similar -- meaning to try to reconstruct or start templates fresh.

If it's projects, that would be difficult, of course - but maybe safe mode first, and saying YES to all would handle that.

I just think we'll see more of this frankly until things shake out/settle in.
