I zoom in tight on my vocal tracks and split the clips where problem areas are. Once I do, I right click on the split clip, click the VV option, it loads up, I adjust the pitch, close the plug, then right click on the clip it edited and I select "bounce to clip". I suspect by splitting the clip so that VVocal only affects a portion of a lengthy clip is the answer. I wonder if it's the "bounce to clip" that makes the difference....that's what seemed to make the difference for me when I was using it with X1a (haven't used it in X1b yet)

make sure you have scanned the cronus dll in your plugin manager. That really seemed to help v vocal for me.

Hey drumr, My cronus.dll is in C:prog files\CW\shared dxi so I just scanned that folder in plug-in manager but don't see any evidence under registered plug-ins in the plug-in manager (checking under direct x audio fx and vst audio fx)...what should I look for? Thanks, Randy

drumr make sure you have scanned the cronus dll in your plugin manager. That really seemed to help v vocal for me. what folder is your cronus.dll located in? mine seems to be installed in the Sonar X1 program folder, not in a plugin folder . . . i also noticed that the Ozone plugin that comes with Sonar and the timestretch.ax are also both located in this folder, and neither show up for me as plugins that are scanned and usable. i'm wondering if my inability to use V-Vocal stems from my cronus.dll not being in the correct location to be scanned

What happens if you add the Sonar X1 program folder to the list of scanned folders in the plug in manager? Not at my DAW now so can't test.

Well, it would seem obvious that wherever the dll is located, that you add that location to the list of dll's to be scanned. But then again, this isn't a plug in the normal sense of the word - it's a process which is applied to clips. Not sure where mine is, and I'm miles away from my DAW - will have a look later.

I am giving up. After a complete uninstall of X1B (and 8.5 just to be safe), and going though the registry deleting anything with "cakewalk" or "sonar" in the name... and then reinstalling X1/a/b, I still have the same issues with vvocal and bounce to track. Going back to 8.5... guess I wasted my money on the X1 upgrade. :(

If the problem is related to projects that are running in X1b but were created in something earlier like some ver of S-8... what it you were to export each track as a wav or midi track to some other program like Audacity then import each track into a new X1b project. Wouldn't the project then be an X1b project? That might be a fix if it is indeed related to X1b and other versions... just a thought though, I don't know much about it. So if it is a stupid idea, excuse me. Julien

Jbow, Cakewalk customer service actually had me try this... it still crashes within X1b. For some reason, it just seems like my X1b, on my machine, doesnt want to play with anything it didnt create. :(

Hi all,i had a Vvocal crash error with only one project.I have done many tests to resolve this.First i had open my prj in safe mode to exclude step by step the relation with the prj plug ins.At the end my instinct tell me that the problem was like memory leak behavior (recent Sonitus problem) and i tried to change my options into the only virtual instrument that load samples in my memory....Kontakt 4 with three Native instr libraries. When i have increased the preload size of Kontakt, VVocal was perfect. With this change i haven't a single Sonar crash, then i think that there is a relation between VVocal and Vst Instr that load samples to play (reFX Nexus). It's only my experience.I hope that this help..... Best Roby
