Question about X1b patch... X1a patch and Frontier Design Dakota ?

Question about X1b patch... X1a patch and Frontier Design Dakota ?

I am reading that one who would experience problems with ASIO drivers (my case) with a Dakota sound card *after* installing Patch X1a should apply X1a Hotfix (and only in this case, *and* only *if* there is such problems..)
 
I am currently planning to replace my Dakota for a RME device, so, again *if* I do experience ASIO problems once I will have updated X1a and X1b patch (or does X1b solve this without the hotfix ??)..., would this be a problem later on when I replace my Dakota ??

    I'm pretty certain that the X1a hotfix should only be applied to X1a. So apply X1a, see if there's a problem. Then apply the hotfix. And then apply X1b.

    This is not an official word though, so you may still want to check with Cakewalk tech support.

    But logic would dictate that would be the proper order of installation.
