This just in: X1b, it's a good start, to start.
I had a chance to install X1b last night and after a couple of hours of pushing it hard all I have to say is great job Cakewalk. I have also found things that still need to be address hopefully in a very near future X1c update but considering what was delivered originally alot of work overall went into this update. +1 to the earlier post who said that this should have been the initial release in December. I hope Cakewalk commits to providing additional updates to X1 before considering the release of X2.

I agree. I think Cakewalk really needs to take one for the team and really hammer out all of the little issues that are either legacy or introduced with X1. I don't mind 99 bones annually for an upgrade of features and support. But I think at this point they have allot of things that need to be addressed before adding anything more.

Man, such thread title names are scary. With the nuclear plant reactor problems in Japan, I was wondering if this thread, because of the title, was going to be a report of some very disasterous news about the problem in Japan. Please be more careful with thread titles? :)

Why would a SONAR X1 forum report disastrous news about Japan?

Because news like that is important, globally, and we do that from time to time regardless of being technically off topic, and the Cakewalk staff appears to understand that. You're kinda new to the forums, so you probably haven't noticed this, yet.

Didn't realize that almost 5 years in the forums constitutes as "new" still ... Besides all that, I should have put a smiley face or something, I didn't intend offense, it was just a tongue-in-cheek kind of comment, thats all

Please let me know if you think this is more acceptable to the forum. Terrible thing what is happening in Japan. Again my apologies.

You're new on the forums until you have done one of the following: - Made at least 5 other forum members really mad about your opinion or comments. At least one bodily harm comment must be received or one snide comment about your genetic heritage. - Stated some obvious idiotic comment which causes numerous people to put you down and thus run up your post count astronomically in a short amount of time. - Actually try to help a lot of people with Cakewalk product issues. This even though your comments may or may not be accurate or even based in fact. - You appear as a complete newb, doe eyed with sincere heartfelt questions about improving your art, skills and understanding Sonar....and....at least 5 people kick you around for your lack of skills. Good for the soul, callous development. Otherwise you may appear like a freshman for many years. Just remember, controversy is good. Whining can be an art.

eternal84: Didn't mean to offend you. It's just because you didn't appear to see that users post OT big news, you struck me as being kinda new here, in having a feel about what goes on here, for example. Too Sensible: It's just that the situation in Japan has me concerned and kinda panicy. Thanks for changing the thread title, though. I sure hope they get the situation under control over there. It's really scary. MiddleMan: You're something else! :) Albeit, there's a ring of truth in your post above. :)

And how about those Japanese? They don't throw cement on the problem like the Russians, they throw Kamikaze nuclear engineers with garden hoses. But hey, it looks like they got it done. More power to them.

I hope Cakewalk commits to providing additional updates to X1 before considering the release of X2. After experiencing audio buzzing problems when I would stop playback with X1b, I've decided to reinstall Sonar with the original installation disc. It's the only version I've had any success working with my Tascam FW-1082 audio interface was the initial installation of Sonar X1 Producer. I can't figure out if the x1a update that I had to apply was causing me problems, or x1b, but I can live with the problems from the initial build of X1 over the audio buzzing noise on stopping playback with x1b. I really really love Sonar X1 and it's user friendly interface, but I do feel some of these issues must be addressed before I update again. People are telling me that it wasn't an issue with x1a or x1b but why is it that only the initial release of Sonar X1 is the only one that works for me without this problem? I need to get back to making music :-) Peter
