samples availables ?

Hi everyone,
here's my config, Win7 x64, processor phenom x4, 8 Go ram, sound card, soundblaster X-fi Elite Pro, UA-25ex, cakewalk sonar PE, x86
firts , thank you for your help,
At the install of sonar PE, i saw many samples that were installed with the cakewalk sonar (dvd content), is it possible to input those samples on a midi track ? what can i do with the samples, are they useful or only for for information, exemple: i'd like to use guitars samples , on my midi track ? if it's possible , how can i use them ?  realguitar is very useful for me , but it's only accoustic guitars, so i want to use jazz guitar or an other electric guitar for rythm
Thank you very much

What version of SONAR are you using?
Samples are audio, MIDI is data. You can play samples using MIDI to controll a soft synth/virtual instrument in which the samples are loaded . The samples are mostly for the included soft synths to use, I think (I haven't taken a good look at what's in there). For example every drum hit of Session Drummer is a separate sample stored in the library. So you don't need to think about the samples at all, the soft synths wil do the thinking. I don't think you can add your own samples into Realguitar, if that's what you're suggesting, but I'm not sure.

Doing the tutorials will give you the idea.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

    Claude,

not sure what you are saying.  The DimPro samples are available (Program Files [I think]>Cakewalk>Dimpro>multisamples).  You can change presets, easy. Read the manual.  It does take a few seconds for the browser to load in.

AS far as the samples/loops that come w/ Sonar - you can't use them w/ midi directly but can open them into your track timeline.  Use the SONAR browser to locate them.

If you can better specify your question, we can help.
