Anybody else think the horizontal meters are too large?

I do a lot of mobile recording, and I like how, in previous versions of SONAR, when you hid the text on the horizontal meters and made them non-segmented, they would become very skinny. This would let me see a large number of easy to follow meters on the screen at once. Now, the meters are just bigger in every way, segmented or not, so I can fit 12 metered tracks on a laptop screen that used to fit 20. Another example of wasted screen space.

Any way to change this? I looked everywhere and cannot find a meter width option. Thanks!

BTW I'm running X1B.

Thank you so much for the sarcastic reply. Of course I know about that. In what way are 20 tiny vertical meters easier to read than wide horizontal ones? How does that offer me better resolution? Please answer with another picture to make your point clearer.

I am exactly in your position.

Not only have they bulked-up the meters in Sonar X1; lots of other things are also slightly larger for no reason that I can discern. All adds up to having to scroll around more.

I'm not sure if I am getting any advantage from using X1. Unless I find some compelling benefit, I shall reinstall version 8.

I'm sorry, but don't take it wrong my friend!

Non-segmented meters still save some space, primarily by putting the scale inside the meter, but all the track header controls and indicators are bigger and have more space around them so it's just not possible to get anywhere near the widget density you could get with earlier versions. And as a result, X1 cannot display nearly as many tracks and buses in the TV with the same level of detail that 8.5.3 could.

Bummer. Maybe they will optimize this screen-waste someday, it seems like I can't have a big enough monitor for this program. I generally like X1B too much to go back to a previous version... not that I could anyway, since I don't even own a previous version!

    Thanks for the replies,
