Sonar 8 and Steinberg's the Grand 3

i just ordered and got the grand three from steinberg. i was expecting to be able to run it similar to true pianos, but when i set it up like that, i got nothing.  i couldnt even get it to open in sonar. it says something about rewire in the documentation, but im not familiar with rewire. is it built into sonar, or is it a separate program

thanks inadvance

If it's a VST3 SONAR does not support it.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

rewire is sort of a separate program but it comes with sonar and is "integrated" in the sonar controls.    you should see a REWIRE menu option in the INSERT> menu pull down, just above or below SOFTSYNTHS

however, if it's greyed out then it means you don't have anything on your system which will use rewire OR it means you're running 64bit sonar.  you can't use rewire in 64bit sonar, only in 32bit.

just select it like you would any other softsynth.  it acts the same way, just a different menu option to get to it.
