Every single thing is working to me so far... But I had this crash you mentioned when i tryed to acces synth rack while the song were playing... But I had did so many tweaks at that point that don't realized the relation with the crash... Will try again... What about the channel strip control and ProChannels??? What you feel about the solution (keep the labels, screw the sequence) Peace.

Hey man how you doing ? Good to hear from another VS-700 user who has updated lets hope some more people jump in with there findings ! Ive not not had much of a chance to do a lot of testing on it yet but so far the only problem I have had is the Synth rack causeing a crash but its only done it once and was the first time I had hit it hahahah Its not done it since Ive not had a chance to take a good look into the Channel strip and pro channel yet but i will be doing so tomorrow :) In regards to the (keep the labels, screw the sequence) My thoughts on this are simple......... I agree with every one who has said it shoudnt have been over looked in the designeing stage but...... We have ACT and we can make each control do what we want aslong as I change it with ACT so it all works I am happy. It wont obviously be in the same order as you see on screen as to whats on the VS-700 but I dont look at the screen al the time when mixing I look at the desk and use my ears and that works for me :) I do agree it should have been made the same as the VS-700 controls So....... What about X1b and the VS-700 ? How are you finding it apart from that one issue ? Norrie Norrie

Hummm that's bad. I sorry for you but I'haven't encounter any issue so far and the Pro channel integration is wonderful as well as the dynamic sample rate switching. Just power off the I/O, set the rate and power on all without closing Sonar. That's nice!

I'm gonna buy the upgrade to X1 now that X1b has hit. ...but I have serious doubts I'll actually use it (other than testing on my laptop). ...still too many horror stories... ...and I make a living with Sonar... So I appreciate you guys doing the gig to help Cakewalk get it right.

Howdy all.... keen to get the new download installed and give it all a run. The labeling issue is odd but not a major for me as I tend to only look at the surface when using the wee knobbies. I do see the point though that Pro is referring to... my melancholy side bangs it's head over stuff like that. Will hunt for broken stuff like most others... but am expecting good things. The dynamic sample rate thing is interesting. I never restarted Sonar anyway... didn't have that issue. Still have to re crank the 700R... now 'that' is a pain after having a MOTU. Cheers!

Hey... VS 700 was out of scene in this forum for a while... Now, we have lots of new things to share... How can you guys working looking to the console??? Funny thing for me... I am always looking to the screen... Like Stevie Wonder playing the piano (i mean, the posture)... Anyway... I never tryed ACT... Now is a good opportunity... And, Mully, I agree with you... As an old Motu's and M-audios user... This thing with Rolands audio interface (all of them) is pretty conterproductive. Peace.

Hey ACT is awesome... Lol... What I have to do to turn the ACT button off, after make my changes? It lits up and still on... I tryed combine other buttons... Nothing happen... (JUST DISCOVERED HOW, I'd pressed the EQ button, eheh) I have to keep the ACT button on to use the changes I made? When I turn it off the parameters came back to default... Good feeling on X1b so far...

When we turn the knobs with our mouses the values appears in a small box... When we do that with the controller, is no value representation... They shoul implement a visual reference (am talking about ProChannels again), because when I tweek the knobs don't know exactly whic frequency I am on... Again, looking to the screen... Am I the only alien who do that?

Hey Mauricio, I do look at the screen when using eq at times to see where the node ends up or if I am sweeping.... ok I promise I DO NOT sweep much though alright... ..only when I am hunting for something usually on the input side.. honest. Don't you get frequency indication on the 700C screen? Will have to take a look at my own work flow to process this better but I can see your point if you are using the screen to reference the 'twiddling of thy knobs'. The labeling issue wouldn't affect this I wouldn't have thought? Cheers.

Yes I get...But to see all the information I have to navigate thru the display to have the hole scenario...Gain, level, freq, etc... For you is easyer to navigate thru the console display? Hugs for Oztralia people...eheh Peace.

Hello Brazil.... home of Gracie Jui Jitsu! I use the graphic to watch the node I may be sweeping or shifting in order to keep a visual tab on how radical the adjustment may be. The visual it gives of gain and Q are so much easier for me to use. As for X1b integration with the 700C... hmmm...NO soft synth crash issue as Norrie experienced and all seems very stable... but I was hoping that selecting Pro Channel strip control buttons would actually bring the Pro Channel into view. Reading the PDF notes explains it a bit better and although I can understand why they have set it up like they have, it is a slightly clunky at first. Certainly a difficult thing for Cake to solve to everyones liking etc but 'kind' of takes away what I thought would make the 700C feel a little more native than it is given that the Pro Channel is embedded... result is a slightly more generic feel than I expected but only when it comes to Pro Channel control... never an easy issue to resolve. Time spent with this mistress may prove otherwise it must be said. Anyways... back to my new found under 9msec round trip wonder machine.... loads more to explore. Cheers!

Gracie rules!!! No crash to me as well with soft synths (only once, as mentioned)... Some gasps, like when auto-save happen... Not all the time... About ProChannels stuff, now, isn't more than speculations... Will try ACT (my own prog) and also the CW default... There is so many people using it (default) with such extreme joy... I wanna have some (joy)! Peace Mully.

Few questions for users of VS-700C to see if me of a bug : - when you select a track with you mouse, does the SEL button for the track on VS-700C becomes orange (for me not) ? The opposite works - when you change for example in the Pro Channel the compressor type from 4K to 76, if you don't click on DISPLAY button on the VS-700C, the LCD is not updated. For me, it's a bug but Cakewalk changed the status of my problem report in "CONTACT SUPPORT" with some explanations that don't fix anything, so I'm afraid that they will never pay attention of it :(.
